Recovery From Alzheimer’s is Now Possible
The Bredesen Protocol. The clinically proven program to optimise cognition and improve Alzheimer’s.
US neurologist, Dr Dale Bredesen and his research team have shown in clinical trials that reversal of cognitive decline associated with Alzheimer’s is now possible using the ReCODE program.
Alzheimers Recovery can deliver the Bredesen Protocol in partnership with doctors and health professionals qualified to oversee both programs.
WHAT WE DO
THE BREDESEN PROTOCOL
A PRECISION MEDICINE APPROACH FOR PREVENTION AND REVERSAL OF COGNITIVE DECLINE

Prevention of Alzheimer's
Prevention is always better than cure. Alzheimer’s starts decades before symptoms appear. The PreCODE program is designed for those who are asymptomatic and wish to optimise their brain health and prevent Alzheimer’s. Especially suited for those with a family history of dementia or risk factors such as pre-diabetes.

Reversal of Subjective Cognitive Impairment (SCI)
If you are noticing something just doesn’t feel right, it may be SCI. Perhaps you are experiencing ‘senior moments’ or just not feeling as mentally sharp as you used to. It may be SCI. You can still function quite well and others don’t notice anything, but you are concerned. The ReCODE program can help.

Reversal of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)
MCI is the stage between normal aging and Alzheimer’s, where memory lapses are noticed by others and it affects daily life. Getting lost on familiar roads, forgetting names and struggling to find words are common signs. Often considered pre-Alzheimer’s, it’s harder to reverse if it’s ignored. Taking action early with the ReCODE program can make all the difference.

ABOUT OUR STYLE
What is the Bredesen Protocol & Who is Alzheimers Recovery ?
The Bredesen Protocols is a groundbreaking approach to improving brain health. It is based on the principles of Lifestyle Medicine and Functional Medicine. Instead of focusing on just one factor, the protocol addresses over 30 different causes of Alzheimer’s Disease. They are personalized, science-based plans that look at your genetics, exposure to toxins, inflammation, stress, exercise, diet, sleep, and many other factors. By addressing all of these, the protocol helps to reverse cognitive decline.
Founder of Alzheimers Recovery, John Bransby, is a NeuroHealth Program Coordinator and Independent Client Advocate, specialising in helping individuals implement complex, evidence-based health protocols such as the Bredesen Protocol for cognitive decline. With formal training in project management (Diploma of Project Management, NSW) and accreditation as a Bredesen Protocol Health Coach (ReCODE 2.0), John brings a structured, systems-based approach to personalised healthcare.
His role is not to deliver therapy, but to coordinate the right practitioners — including Bredesen-accredited doctors and health professionals, clinical nutritionists, exercise physiologists, food coaches, herbalists and mental health specialists — based on their expertise, scope of practice, fees, and availability.
John maintains full independence from all service providers, accepting no commissions or referral fees, and works solely in the best interests of clients. The goal is to simplify what can otherwise be a confusing and overwhelming process, offering strategic support, trusted guidance, and ethical coordination from start to finish.

Got questions?
What are your service fees, how many coaching sessions will I need and how does the process work?
Each person’s journey with the Bredesen Protocol is unique, and the level of support needed from us depends on factors like at home support, the stage of cognitive decline, the Alzheimer’s sub-type, and other health conditions.
Arguably, the 2 most important factors in achieving success are motivation and social support. Initially, it can be challenging making the lifestyle changes needed. A clear and compelling vision or “why” is essential—without a strong desire to restore health, progress is unlikely, as the program requires strong commitment and persistence.
The motivation might come from many sources including; wanting to stay independent, a strong desire to spend more quality time with family, regain the ability to travel, or simply enjoy life without constant fatigue or confusion. Whether it’s the desire to stay engaged with grandchildren, continue enjoying favorite hobbies, or maintaining independence without becoming a burden, a strong personal vision is key to lasting success in restoring health. Simply fearing further decline isn’t enough—true motivation only comes from a clear vision of a healthier, more fulfilling future.
Even if there is a high level of motivation, strong social support is needed. Dr Dean Ornish is considered the leading authority on Lifestyle Medicine, with over 40 years of experience helping patients reverse heart disease, diabetes, some forms of cancer and more recently, Alzheimer’s, using a program with many similarities to the Bredesen Protocol. His 4 decades of clinical experience and studies have shown the critical importance of social support.
Isolation, loneliness and lack of connection and love will sabotage the best program. The perfect diet, exercise plan and other lifestyle measures are unlikely to be successful unless there is love, support, connection with friends, family and community as well. In fact, Dr Ornish wrote a book ‘Love and Survival’ citing the evidence to support his position. A big focus of our coaching support is ensuring there is strong social support in place for our clients.
Since Alzheimer’s develops over decades, reversing cognitive decline through our program requires a minimum 12-month commitment and significant lifestyle changes. The programs target many key areas including: nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, social support, connection, life purpose, brain stimulation, detoxification, and supplements. Our goal is to empower clients to take charge of their health—coaching is more intensive at first but gradually reduces as lasting habits form and improvements take hold.
We offer a ‘One-stop shop’ service, connecting you with all the healthcare providers you need for the Bredesen Protocol.
Here’s how our process works:
Step 1: 60 Min Initial Consultation
You can book a 60-minute initial consultation by phone or video for a fee of $95.00.
This no-obligation 60 minute session allows us to understand and discuss your unique situation and explore whether the Bredesen Protocol might be the best option.
During this consultation, we’ll discuss:
- The available social support and care network
- Previous diagnoses and test results
- Current state of cognition and medications
- Any other existing health conditions
- The participant’s level of motivation and commitment, along with their support team’s
- Any other relevant factors that may impact success
If we all feel confident the Bredesen Protocol could be the best solution for your situation, we will send you a personalised proposal after the consultation. This will outline the estimated costs, steps involved, supporting scientific evidence, links to explainer videos and a draft Coaching Agreement.
You can easily book the 60-minute initial consultation by clicking the ‘Let’s Discuss Your Situation’ links on our website.
Step 2: Optional Comprehensive Follow-up Consultation
After providing the proposal, we sometimes find that family members have more questions about the Bredesen Protocol and would like a 2nd consultation before making a decision to proceed. In that situation, the next step is a follow up 60-minute consultation, usually done by video. We strongly suggest that carers and /or family involved attend this video call. This session is typically done about 7-10 days after you receive the proposal documents mentioned in Step 1, to allow enough time for all involved to review the information. The session costs $95.00 and allows you and your family to ask questions and gain clarity about the process.
This session ensures all aspects are considered before beginning the program. We can provide a recording of the session and provide you with a written summary of what is discussed, which is included in the fee.
Step 3: Finalising the Plan & Getting Started
Once the consultation process is complete and you decide to proceed, the coaching agreement is formally accepted. Our coaching programs operate on a pay-as-you-go basis, so there are no long-term contracts or lock-in commitments.
To ensure the best oversight of your program, we can recommend suitable health professionals to oversee the program. In many cases, your family doctor can provide initial supervision. We also work with several ReCODE-accredited doctors in Australia and the USA and can help match you with the most suitable practitioner, including an estimate of their costs.
Depending on your specific needs, additional specialists such as a nutritionist, exercise physiologist, or stress management therapist may be involved. Your proposal will include a detailed cost estimate for all professionals engaged in your care. However, as health care is dynamic and individualised, this estimate may evolve over time as adjustments are made to the plan.
At this stage, with everything in place, you’re ready to begin implementing the Bredesen Protocol and taking the first steps toward restoring cognitive health.
Why do most mainstream doctors say there's nothing that can be done for Alzheimer's?
Most doctors are still trained to believe that Alzheimer’s is an incurable, progressive condition with no effective treatment. Their usual advice is to plan for the future and prepare for the disease to get worse. The only drugs they offer can, at best, slightly slow down the decline, but they don’t offer any hope for recovery and only treat the symptoms. Dr. Bredesen refers to this as 20th-century medicine, which worked well for simpler health issues. Unfortunately, medicine changes very slowly, and it often takes decades for new treatments to become widely accepted. The good news is that more and more doctors are starting to recognize the benefits of newer approaches like the Bredesen Protocol.
The Bredesen Protocol uses a completely different approach. Dr. Bredesen calls it 21st-century medicine, which focuses on treating the root causes of Alzheimer’s instead of just managing symptoms with drugs. This is known as Functional Lifestyle Medicine. Doctors trained in Functional Lifestyle Medicine have learned to dig deeper and address the underlying causes of conditions, not just treat the symptoms.
Dr. Dale Bredesen’s research has identified over 30 factors that can contribute to Alzheimer’s. Because these factors vary from person to person, the protocol is very detailed and personalised. No single drug can target all of these factors at once, which is why so many drug trials have failed—they only focus on one thing, like plaque in the brain. Unfortunately, this is also why some of Dr. Bredesen’s trial applications have been refused—traditional trials prefer to test one factor at a time, but Alzheimer’s is far more complex than that.
I've seen promotions for all sorts of Alzheimer's 'cures' online. Many promise results from a special food or supplement. How do I know what to believe?
It can be confusing, but we can help you sort through the options. First, it’s important to know that there’s no magic pill, food, or supplement that can improve Alzheimer’s on its own. The Bredesen Protocol has been clinically proven to work.
Dr Bredesen’s approach is based on years of scientific research. Neurologist, Dr. Dale Bredesen, who developed the protocol, has over 30 years of experience and has written several books that explain how it works. Alzheimer’s is a complex condition with many underlying causes—sometimes more than 30! This is why treatments that rely on just one thing, like a single drug, supplement, or food, don’t work.
However, some of these things might still be helpful when they are used as part of the comprehensive plan that the Bredesen Protocol offers. The program uses a combination of approaches tailored to each person’s unique needs, which is why it has shown such positive results.
